             Our Promise to you...

All of our resources belong to God. He has entrusted us, at the Ray of Hope Family Home, to care for some of the orphaned Jinja children in a responsible manner. We are committed to providing continual learning and growth opportunities through a loving home with dedicated, caring people. Every child is precious in God's sight!

We believe that we are all called to serve with love and we would like to include you in this ministry!  We need sponsors and prayer partners for the children and Team Members at the Ray of Hope Family home. Will you help?

Let us know how we can pray for you... we promise to get back to you promptly and answer any questions.

Thanks so much,

Bev Ecker and Tom Stanton and the Ray of Hope Board

How Can You Help the Ray of Hope Family Home?

Listed below are some specific ways you and your church can be of assistance to us:

  • 1. We need for you to join us in praying for this ministry to children.  Our theme for this year is “Survive and Thrive”.
  • 2. We have a budget of $3000 a month that covers food, clothing, medical, building maintenance, and transportation costs.
  • 3. We have been requested to construct a wall around our compound which is estimated to cost $19,000 in US dollars.
  • 4. Our teenagers need to connect with a good church group for fellowship and fun activities outside of school.
  • 5. We are starting a program called “Farming God’s Way” to grow some of our own fruits and vegetables. We need seed and fertilizer and some help in planting. Abert is in charge of developing this programmed teaching the children.
  • 6. We need a chicken coop and some funds for raising chickens and obtaining eggs for the Home. Elijah, our main primary instructor, is in charge of this project.
  • 7. Our children are very advanced in singing and dancing and we would like them to visit churches and share their talents. So, we need a bus to transport them. We could also use a keyboard to help teach the children how to play piano and to sing.
  • 8. We could certainly use a few more computers for teaching the children in the primary classes. Bukenya is a skilled computer teacher. We currently have two computers at the home. It would be great if someone wanted to sponsor internet at our facility for easily accessing online training in many areas.
  • 9.  We need both English and Lugandan Bibles. Perhaps your church has some resources to provide these. Both George and Abert are working on Bible training for the children but any additional help or materials would be good.
  • 10. We are starting the Ray of Hope Home School in September for Pre-school through P-4, or 9 year olds. We need school supplies and curriculum materials as well as Physical Education equipment like balls for sports activities.
