 As an educator, it has been a privilege to see four young girls in my class enroll in the Ray of Hope after school child care program. Throughout the past seven months  I have  watched my students develop positive relationships with their peers by being responsible, respectful to themselves and others, and over all great “citizens” in and out our classroom. Not only have they grown socially, but they have also shown improvement on a variety of assessments adopted by Pitt County Schools.

 Ms. Olavee Williams and the staff at Ray of Hope, Inc. has been a great support in ensuring that the students continue to learn and practice the objectives taught. They contact me weekly for an account of the students’ behavior and any other area that I may see as a concern.  Ms. Williams has also attended a parent conference during which we agreed on a behavior management plan that would be more appropriate for the student.  As a result, the student has experienced “less time out” occurrences and the new plan has proven to be successful. I strongly believe that Ray Of Hope, Inc. will have a positive effect on the life of any child who participates in their program.
