Ray of Hope, Inc. creates a comprehensive profile of your child’s academic strong points and weaknesses based on the results of our pre and post test. Each child’s scores reflect their strengths and weaknesses based on the North Carolina Standard Course of Study Objectives.  Through a combination of test scores, parent interviews, peer interviews, and previous work samples we develop and plan of instruction for each child.

Supplemental Educational Services (SES)

Ray of Hope, Inc. is approved through DPI to provide free tutoring services for students and schools that qualify.  We serve in various counties throughout North Carolina.  We again develop a comprehensive profile of each students academic outlook and plan individualized instruction to meet each students needs.  We also abide by the rules and regulations that the Department of Public Instruction sets before us.

Summer Programs and Camps

We are interested in seeing children continuing the learning process while schools is out.  We offer summer programs that will allow students to retain what they have learned and the opportunity to learn new things.  We also sponsor and Science and Math camp in which we expose students to science and math in a fun way while still learning goals and objectives that they will be responsible for at their grade when school starts back.  We make science fun by doing fun science projects and experiments that demostrates different science and math goals and objectives that they are learning.

After-School Program

We provide academic help during the school while by offering tutoring in all subjects and homework help.  We also provide help with study skills and test taking strageties.  We create a academic profile for each student that will aid us in putting together a learning plan that meets each students needs.  We use that learning plan to help students reach academic success!

Ault Education

Ray of Hope, Inc. provides academic support to adults that are seeking to get their GED.  We provide academic support to adults that just need to strengthen their knowlegde in various subject areas that they are weak in.  We also have computers available for adults and parents to use to update their resume and to search for jobs.

****Involving parents in their child’s learning process is a very important part of our program.  We realize that parent involvement is a vital piece to the puzzle for their child’s academic success.  To include parents, we provide weekly progress reports to inform parents of their child’s academic and social performance.  Another piece of the puzzle to ensure student success is to communicate and work with each child’s school teacher. We believe that keeping open communication and a healthy relationship with each child’s teacher is a necessity.  When we have everyone working together, each child is bound for success and becoming a well rounded student!
